Who this is for
Anyone taking on a SSAS trustee role for the first time, and any existing trustee who wants a proper refresher rather than picking things up as they go. Training is available to all SSAS trustees, whoever administers the scheme.
It's also for trustees who've never had a proper grounding in what the role actually involves. Scheme administrators aren't there to advise you — administering a scheme and advising on it are different regulated activities, and most administrators aren't authorised for the latter. As you're probably aware, SSASs have a range of features and trustee responsibilities attached to them — and only by fully understanding them can you properly fulfil your trustee obligations. Trustee Training is what gives you that grounding.
What it covers
- What a trustee is legally responsible for, and what happens if those duties aren't met
- How to work effectively with your scheme's administrator
- The decisions trustees are commonly asked to make, and how to approach them
- Where to go when something falls outside day-to-day admin
Already a trustee and need help with something specific right now? Trustee Advice & Support Services is there for that.
This is general information, not personalised advice for your scheme.
