Trustee Advice & Support Services

An ongoing helpline and support service for existing trustees, there whenever a question comes up — irrespective of who administers your scheme.

What this service is for

Being a trustee doesn't stop being your responsibility just because someone else administers the scheme day to day. Questions come up between the formal review cycles — and it's not always obvious whether something needs raising, or who to raise it with.

RC Advisors' trustee support service exists for exactly that: a second opinion and a helpline, independent of your scheme's administrator.

It's also somewhere to ask a different kind of question — not just "is this paperwork right?" but "what can my scheme actually do?" Your administrator's job is to run the scheme correctly, not to advise you on your options — that would step into regulated financial advice, a different activity most administrators aren't authorised to provide. As you're probably aware, SSASs come with a range of features and trustee responsibilities — fully understanding them is what lets you meet your obligations properly. Structural questions like these are exactly the kind of thing this service is here for.

The kind of things trustees get in touch about

  • Something in the scheme's paperwork that doesn't look right
  • A decision that needs making outside the usual admin cycle
  • A disagreement between co-trustees on how scheme assets should be used
  • Uncertainty about an upcoming HMRC deadline or reporting requirement
  • General reassurance that a decision already made was the right one

How it works

Get in touch and explain what's come up. Where it's a straightforward question, you'll get a straightforward answer. Where it needs more structured support — a transaction, a dispute, a wider review — that's where RC Advisors' Done For You service picks up.
